2008 has been an exciting year on the Oklahoma River beginning with the USA Canoe/Kayak Olympic Team Trials held April 18-20. In May, more than 400 juniors from across the region traveled to Oklahoma City for the Central Youth Rowing Championship.

Over Memorial Day weekend, the focus was on the American Collegiate Rowing Association National Championship. In its first year, ACRA Nationals attracted the top collegiate rowing clubs in the nation for a weekend of exciting sprint racing.

In August, the attention again turned to kayaking with USA Canoe/Kayak Nationals featuring top kayakers of all ages.

October 4-5 will bring the OCU Head of the Oklahoma celebrating its fifth anniversary with collegiate, masters and junior rowers gathering for one of the nation's top head races and one of Oklahoma City's favorite festivals. In December, we'll enjoy the twinkling lights of the Devon Energy holiday river parade.
