| Chesapeake Boathouse
members have full access to the new fitness room featuring Concept 2 ergs
(rowing machines), elliptical trainers and cycling for cardiovascular conditioning,
plus an array of strength training equipment. It's all geared to help rowers
improve athletic performance and reduce the risk of injury. The
boathouse also offers workshops and classes with specific training goals
in mind. The current slate of classes includes:

High energy group erg workouts set to heart-pounding music. A great indoor
training alternative during the winter months, erging offers a full-body
workout. You'll build cardiovascular endurance while strengthening muscles
in the arms, legs, chest, back and abs. Plus fine-tune the speed and rhythm
of your stroke.

Core conditioning is key for most sports, and rowing is no exception.
Our yoga/pilates class is geared specifically toward the rower's need
for core strength and stability, flexibility, and balance.
